Whiz Burgers: Nice little greasy spoon in The Mission. Order the fresh banana milkshake and ask for extra bananas.

Cafe Ethiopia: Great food. Beverage selection is meh, but they do have a few beers on tap.

DejaVu: Amazing vegetarian cuisine. Fellow meat-eaters don't worry, though: DejaVu's chicken, andouille and crawfish are out of this world!

Abyssinia: Great stuff. The lunch buffet is a particular favorite of mine.

Fresh Slices Sidewalk Cafe and Deli: Fresh Slices has a varied menu with a nice selection. The food is great and the staff are friendly.

Tres Agaves: Great spot for a quick pit stop or a night out with friends.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken: Best fried chicken in the world. Believe it. Be prepared to wait, though. They don't rush things at Gus's.

Do: I've only eaten lunch at Do, but the food was excellent. The noodle soups are highly recommended.

Huey's Poplar: Excellent pub grub, reasonable prices and one of the best burgers in town.
